SCHOOL DAZE + TENNIS DAZe:
THE YARD

12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

If Saturday was a movie, it would be “School Daze”! We are bringing “the yard" to the northern end of Riverside Park drawing in thousands of attendees from across the nation.  As one of the most highly visible and highly-trafficked events of the weekend, this is an amazing opportunity to participate in the festivities. It feels like homecoming Saturday because it is! Get ready for guest DJs, games, vendor tents, food trucks, pop up tennis nets, games for kids, surprise performances and more!

This year we're adding to the fun, by bringing our Family Tennis Daze, hosted by USTA Eastern, to the yard! Can you compete with the next generation of tennis stars? Join us for some "healthy" competition on tennis pop up nets, across from our School Daze stage, as well as a tennis clinic.

SCHOLARSHIPS

PUISSANCE SCHOLARSHIP

In 2012, five HBCU grads set out to shatter the perception that black alumni don’t give back to their alma maters and founded the Puissance Scholarship to aid in offsetting the cost of college tuition for high school seniors bound for an HBCU. Scholarships are solely awarded thanks to generous monetary donations of fellow HBCU graduates and sponsors. Outside of the scholarship, the team develops programs to increase awareness about the benefits of HBCU for prospective students and to provide a network of support for the alumni they will become.

DEADLINE APRIL 8

USTA
ALTHEA GIBSON SCHOLARSHIP

The United States Tennis Association Althea Gibson Scholarship is a special scholarship in partnership with the USTA Eastern Region NJLT programs and Puissance Scholarship to provide a High School Senior in a tennis program with a $5,000 scholarship.

"HBCUs have long contributed to the growth and progress of tennis in the Black community, and it's important that we continue to invest in their sustainability - for the good of the sport and society at large."
-
Marisa Grimes, USTA Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer

DEADLINE APRIL 8

If you would like to be part of funding future scholarship for HBCU Attendees, please consider a donation to the Puissance Scholarship to help fund their critical mission.
